ARCH1101 - EXP1

Week 4 - EXP1
In this last studio before the first submission I tried to develop my landscape by playing around with the sandbox tool. I've become a lot more comfortable now with Sketchup and am enjoying finding new gimics and shortcuts. I would like to continously work on my model but due to time I think I've got it to a point where I am resonably happy.

Random Youtube Video
Although really spiradic this video reminds me of my current work in the way its a bit all over the place but still connected.

Week 3 - EXP1
In studio this week we explored texture and its properties. We split into groups and came up with 36 of these and then split them into above, inbetween and below textures. Consequently we drew them. At first it was really tough trying to convey some texture like soft and fluffy into drawings but we got there in the end.
Next using these textures we further adapted one of the previous sketchup models and added some of the textures into it.
Sketchup is slowly getting easier to use as I get used to the shortcuts it's becoming faster to convey my ideas, but still much to learn...

Week 2 - EXP1
This week we designed sets of stairs for 4 of the above images. Below is a better sketchup model of Detach/Helpless studio with stairs coming down from detach to an exhibiton space at ground level (datum) and stairs coming up from helpless to the same exhibiton space. I feel I'm slowly getting better at sketchup but I still have lots to learn.

Week 1 Studio - EXP1

This week in studio we picked two of the artists above (I chose Mueck & Banksy)and used the three words from each to create 18 different sets of above and below ground images. One of which will hopefully then be developed into a studio.

The two words I picked to further in design in Sketchup were "Ponder" and "Detach"
Here are very very very basic drafts of my ideas but I really hope to improve on this as I get to know Sketchup a lot better.

Henna Design by Me

I consider henna to be a form of art, and as such I have chosen it as best piece of creative work before coming to this course. This is the product after one and a half hours of drawing, an hour of drying and finally scraping off the excess.

"Synnevag" by Bent Rene

This house in my view is definately a great piece of architecture, I mainly love how it stands boldy in its surrounding environment whilst still being elegant.

Something Beautiful

This is a picture I took of Lake George between Canberra and Sydney. Not only do the almost rolling clouds appeal to me but I love the tiny white pickets in the background which are all wind turbines.
